DIY TinkerTech Camp - Your location, your kids, tinkerTech Activities and Tools
When COVID-19 first locked down our lives, the TinkerTech team brainstormed an idea. Small group camps, at people’s homes, for their children and friends. We would train the babysitter or the lead parent in using our activities and even loan the Edtech tools and a selection of materials to get people started.
In our enthusiasm to get Virtual Camps open for registration, this idea was put on ice but we are keen to explore it again. We know how much children are missing social interaction and also realize that the safest and best for our students right now is if they follow health and safety guidelines and socialize within their existing neighborhood groups of families and friends.
We are looking for a pod of children and parents to help us run the pilot for a one-week camp. We have tools and materials for a camp in a box for up to 12 children, ages 5-12. TinkerTech teachers can join remotely via Zoom for workshops such as Intro to Scratch coding or Stop Motion Animation. Tinkering activities would consist of a starter kit and maker challenge prompts. Right now we can only offer this within Marin County. Could this camp be for your child and their friends or a group of children you know already sheltering together in Marin?
If so we’d love to chat. For more details and a follow-up call, contact claire@tinkertech.me
