Discovering The Art Of Technology

As summer approaches, we’re taking a moment to celebrate the teachers who have helped TinkerTech restart its program this year with even more exciting classes than before.

Emma Lefley is an artist and art educator who will be teaching the TinkerTech Interactive Art Installations camp in Larkspur (see the listing for TinkerTech and Archery), helping students create amazing derby cars at our Camp in Ross and inspiring students to make wearable fashion and accessories that light up in the Microbits, Electronics and a Fashion Show camp in San Anselmo.

“I am excited to teach these camps because this is a great opportunity for kids to explore the intersection of art and technology, and I feel much joy when kids feel as inspired by the subject as I do!”

Emma has been teaching TinkerTech classes this year at Marin Primary, The Cove and at Booker T Washington Community Center in San Francisco. Previously, she taught children at an art lab in Berkeley.

  • Her favorite projects involve sound, circuit building, and computer programs. At Larkspur Super Cool Summer School, she is planning an interactive art experience created with and for the students who come to camp.

  • We’re looking forward to seeing to this real creativity with technology in action! In addition to TinkerTech camps open to all students ages 7-11, Emma will be teaching over two hundred students in San Rafael in the STEM program we create for BACR (Bay Area Community Resources).
